Around the World with Rick Stein – An Unforgettable Event
Between the 14th – 16th of August 2024, Bannisters Mollymook played host to an extraordinary culinary adventure with the exclusive ‘Around the World with Rick Stein’ event.
Over the course of two days, guests were taken on a gastronomic journey that showcased Rick Stein’s passion for global cuisine and his unique ability to transform fresh, local ingredients into dishes inspired by his travels.
Day One: A Feast at The Jackson Ranch by Bannisters
The event opened with an intimate, four-course dinner at The Jackson Ranch, where the atmosphere of the Bawley Point venue set the tone for an unforgettable evening.
Guests indulged in a menu carefully curated by Rick Stein and Head Chef Rupert De La Paz, with an extraordinary main of Lobster and Prawn Pithivier. This luxurious dish featured succulent lobster and prawn, perfectly balanced with fish mousseline, all encased in a flaky golden pastry. Served alongside buttery crushed potatoes and accompanied by a rich and creamy shellfish sauce, it was a true highlight of the evening.
Each course was perfectly complemented by wine pairings selected to elevate the flavours of the sea, providing a truly immersive dining experience.
In a beautiful gesture of giving back, the bespoke tablecloths used during the dinner—each one artistically designed—were auctioned off, with proceeds donated to local charities.
Day Two: A Global Journey at The Rooftop Bar & Grill
The following day, guests were treated to a vibrant lunch at The Rooftop Bar & Grill at Bannisters Pavilion, where Rick Stein introduced them to flavours from around the globe.
From the zesty notes of Mexico and the comforting spices of India, to the bold, fragrant dishes of Indonesia and the savoury tapas of Spain, every dish was a testament to Rick’s deep knowledge and love of international cuisine.
As guests savoured these worldly delights, Rick himself shared captivating stories from his extensive travels, offering insight into the inspiration behind the dishes and the culinary traditions that shaped them.
