Love Stories – Caitlin and Tim
Caitlin and Tim wed in March 2024 at The Jackson Ranch by Bannisters. Bride Caitlin shares their love story and highlights from their special day.
We initially met on Hinge. It was Christmas of 2020 when covid was still very much around. We had organised to meet however we were worried about getting covid and not being able to spend Christmas with our families, so we chose to postpone.
I then went on a road trip with a friend down the south coast over the New Year period, which didn’t really have an end date. So coupled with my constant “I don’t know when I’ll be home” and my lack of replies due to going in and out of reception I was surprised Tim was still keen to meet when I finally got home.
We officially met in January 2021 at a pub where lunch turned into dinner and dinner turned into drinks. And the rest is history.
There were several plans to propose but plans A, B, C and D didn’t quite come to fruition. In the end we were away in the Sunny Coast and went down to the beach at dusk. Tim got down on one knee on the beach at sunset, whilst completely surprising me! Was the most perfect moment.
A coastal, garden party with a hint of an Italian flare. We went with blues, yellows, whites with a hint of peachy colours.
The ceremony – we had a bit of an overcast day with threatening rain however right before the “I do’s” the sun came out. It felt really special.
We loved cocktails and canapes with guests. It was great to be able to chat with guests and share in the celebrations with a cocktail in hand.
We really enjoyed having a moment to ourselves when just the two of us went down to the beach for portraits.
We can’t not mention the dance floor. Once it got started it never stopped! It was just so much fun!

An espresso martini tower – it was our ‘cake cutting’ moment as we didn’t have a cake.
We were also so grateful for the recovery brunch the following day – it was great to see our friends and family and reminisce about the night before.
More time! The whole weekend flew by, if we could do it all over again, we would in a heartbeat.
The Jackson Ranch – There is simply no better venue! The team were always willing to help, give advice, and be a sounding board for ideas. Nothing was too difficult.
Sarah Brown (celebrant/MC) – Sarah is the life of the party with such warm, kind energy. Our ceremony was the perfect mixture of tears and giggles and her presence throughout the whole reception was very much appreciated.
Lauren Young (photographer) – Lauren is truly a master of her craft. She captured our day perfectly.
Timothy Blacketer Film (videographer) – Tim is an absolute legend. Do yourself a favour and lock him in ASAP!
Ivy Lane Collective (Florist) – These girls are just fabulous!
Danni B (Live Illustrator) – Danni drew live sketches of our guests and it was an absolute hit! Her sketches were amazing and such a great way to remember the day.
We knew we wanted an ‘all in one’ venue, with the ceremony and reception in one location. The on-site accommodation was a HUGE plus. It ticked all our boxes and we found ourselves always comparing other venues back to The Jackson Ranch.
